I am a child of the eighties. The Equalizer was one of my favourite TV shows. I can't explain what an influence it was. How it looked, the theme and incidental music by Stewart Copeland , New York . It was all just so cool. I didn't even mind the stuntman wearing a terrible wig pretending to be Edward Woodward whenever he had to run. Some of it reminded me of Glasgow. The tenements, the rain, the grey. These paintings are my love letter to The Equalizer. A lot of people thought they were Mitchell Lane in Glasgow, but they are actually New York . Can't ask for more.
